The Club Room - resources for the
new investment club & club member

cigar4

Welcome to the Club Room!

Here you can find out more about Investment Clubs and other
educational resources for the individual investor: newsletters,
discussion forums and newsgroups. Then take a swing 'round
our ring of investment club sites on the Webring!

There's a vast amount of information on-line about and for
investment clubs. Try some of these services (and send us
your
favorites)!

First, take a look at the National Association of Investment Clubs (NAIC)
and its links (e.g. email newsletter, newsgroup, investment analysis and club accounting software).

To find other investment clubs, try:

  • Investorama - extremely comprehensive directory of
7,000+ investment sites, including many investment clubs
  • The Motley Fool - possibly the largest "investment club"
of all (or at least most popular investment "newsletter"),
with free Bulletin Boards for new clubs, and excellent
    archives of postings on companies.
  • Index of Some Investment Clubs on the Net - example of one club's listing

Starting Your Own On-line Investment Club

You can now easily start up your own Investment Club on-line!
There are a number of new ways to do this:

  • Yahoo Clubs: here you can create a public or private club, including chat, bulletin boards and instant email (buddy systems).
  • IClub: this is still new (as of 11/30/98), but holds a lot of promise by customizing your own investment club, with resources for the individual/club investor.
  • Motley Fool: as described above, this allows for creating on-line investment clubs too.

Investment Newsletters, Discussion Forums & Newsgroups:

There are a plethora of investment newsletters, but first you
might take a look at some of the news groups and discussion
forums shown below. To begin with, our favorites:

Usenet Newsgroups on Investing

Newsgroups provide one of the fastest ways to learn about
investing, and Internet sources. You'll just need an email
program (like MS Outlook Express) to subscribe to one of the
following investment newsgroups:

"Usenet is the wild frontier of the Internet. Anything goes (and usually
does) in these investing newsgroups. If you can get through the noise,
you'll find some smart investors who are willing to share their
knowledge with you. The trouble comes in trying to tell the good guys
from the bad." (source of quote and directory list:
Investorama)

Deja News. Search UseNet news archives for posts on any topic.

Investment Discussion Forums:

A good directory of useful investment discussion
forums can be found at Investorama, from which we
    draw the following:
