Webster Anderson

Webster was one of the twins (brother Edward) being born to James and Margaret. He was born in October 4, 1870 in Morgan Co., Ohio. He married a Rachel Scott. He died January 12th, 1950. Webster and Rachel had one son, Elmer. Although in the 1910 Census I find a Webster, 39 with a wife "Addie", 39. One daughter named Fannie L., 14 and Elmer E., 14.
Then in the 1920 census I see him married to Rachel. I wonder if Addie died young? She must have because Rachel is 35 here. No children are listed living with them. However, just by chance, I checked the next page just to see, and at the bottom, not the top, but at the bottom of the sheet lists Elmer Anderson - 23- son - Line 99-118-133. It somehow got put on the next sheet at the bottom!

1930 Census Webster is listed as Weberter. That's why I couldn't find him. I looked up Rachel Anderson and that's how I found it. Webster is now 58, Rachel is 46, Elmer is 34, and there are two new children: Leona, 8, Eugene, 7.

In Webster's brother, Oliver's, obituary it lists Webster as still alive in 1924 and working as a groceryman in Zanesville.

Morgan Co. Man Taken By Death
McConnelsville, O., -- Webster Anderson, 79, retired grocer and farmer, died at his home in Bristol township, Morgan county, Thursday afternoon at 1:35 o'clock following a three weeks' illness. Mr. Anderson was born October 4, 1870 in Bristol township and was the son of James and Margaret Ann Anderson. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist church. Surviving are his widow, Rachel Scott Anderson, a son, Elmer Anderson of McConnelsville; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Miller funeral home, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. Hilton Petry officiating. Burial will be in Bristol cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in the afternoon today.(obtained from Rootsweb by Ky Longley)
