Federals will be representing the undermanned 8th Connecticut and the 24th Massachusetts of Plaisted’s Brigade.

These regulations apply to both the 24th Massachusetts and the 10th Connecticut.  The items have been listed in preference.  Any items not listed are not acceptable.  However, here is a short list of non-acceptable items-

- Blanket weight unlined "sutler row" sack coats
- Baseball shaped brims on forage caps
- Any Corps Badge or insignia besides the 10th Corps Badge and Regimental numbers of the 10th or 24th and assigned company letters.
- Dead animal parts
- Modern clothing items of any type, including eyeglasses.
- Bandannas
- Masonic or Ethnic Brass
- Elastic Suspenders
- Wrought Iron Cookware.

Items are listed in their order of preference, and any item not listed may not be worn without prior approval.   Items MUST have a worn but NOT TORN look.

Tenth Corps Badge is Required.

Headgear

Enlisted-  Forage Caps are preferred for both regiments, but civilian hats MAY be worn if you also carry your forage cap, which will be used for any formations.
Officers- Officer’s Forage Cap or Kepi, or civilian Hat.

Coat

Enlisted
    1. Fatigue Blouse, lined from US arsenal or contract pattern, of correct weight wool flannel
    2. Fatigue blouse, unlined, with all seams flat felled, of correct weight wool flannel.
Officer
    1. Single breasted frock coat, complete with rank insignia.
    2. Commercially bought Blouse, complete with rank insignia, either shoulder or collar rank.

Trousers

Enlisted
    1. Sky Blue US issue foot trousers, worn at the natural waist.
Officer
    1. Dark Blue trousers with correct trim
    2. Enlisted Sky Blue trousers

Footwear- both enlisted and commissioned


US Issue Brogans, private purchase boots are also permitted.

Shirt

Enlisted
    1. US issue shirt, highly recommended.
    2. Civilian pattern shirt of documented pattern
Officer
    1. Private Purchase Shirt

Accouterments

Blanket roll of US Issue or Contractor variant being preferred, while the 1853 US Issue Knapsack allowed.  US Issue Ground Cloth with the SMALL Grommets.  US Issue Shelter Half,.
US issue 1855 Cartridge box/cap pouch.  2  or 7 rivet bayonet scabbard, Cartridge box sling may not have Breast Plate. Bullseye or Smoothside Canteen, with brown/gray jean cloth cover, or none at all, leather US issue strap or proper canvas strap, no chain attaching cork, use hemp or linen twine.  US issue tarred haversack only. 

REMEMBER TO TRAVEL LIGHT, AS WE WILL BE COVERING SOME DISTANCE THIS WEEKEND.

EMPTY HAVERSACKS!

Cookware

 US or Civilian Tin Cup, Plate and eating utensils, canteen halves are also acceptable.

Weapons

 1861 Springfield highly encouraged, with 1853 Enfields also acceptable, smoothbores are discouraged but acceptable.  Bayonets a must!  ALL WEAPONS WILL BE INSPECTED AND MUST BE IN TOP OPERATING ORDER.
