ZEICHEN
Proofs
This site is – like all the others – under construction. Little by little I will show proofs that the SIGN is reality.
Several times I found descriptions of the SIGN in medieval sources, like the "Chronicle of Colmar" (13th century) and the "Cologne Kings' Chronicles" (12th century). The first excerpt deals with the death of King Philipp of Swabia, a German king who reigned from 1198 up to 1208. On June 21st 1208, King Philipp was murdered during a wedding in Bamberg by the Bavarian palatine Otto von Wittelsbach, whom he had refused his daughter to.
Kölner Königschronik
Chronica regia Coloniensis, Cont. II, Rec. A:
Anno dominice incarnationis 1208. In cena Domini
visi sunt tres lune in Saxonia pluribus in locis a vespera
usque mane girare firmamentum, et in media crucem pulcherrimam
et satis magnam, in cuius medio nichilominus imago mirabilis
apparuit, que duobus circulis conexis inter se linea
constare videbatur; unde mortem Philippi regis, que
in brevi subsequuta est, quidam intelligi voluerunt.
Vise sunt scintille candentes quaquaversum in aere volantes
circumferri.
hätte man fallende Funken gesehen.

König Philipp von Schwaben
(1178-1208)
The second excerpt deals with the election of Rudolf of Habsburg, which was very controversial, since Ottokar II. of Bohemia was ignored. In those times a lot of people saw his election as a conspiracy, since Rudolf was only a „small“ and not very important count. So his whole governance was under a bad sign. And he was never crowned as an Emperor, because eight different popes ruled during his regency (1273 – 1291). In one year the Holy Seat changed four times!
Colmarer Chronik
Chronicon Colmariense:
Cum comes Rudolffus fuisset in vigilia omnium sanctorum
in regem Tewthonye coronatus, apparuit hora nona magna
nubes candida in modum duorum circulorum, qui inter
se linea conexi videbantur, que postea fuit in ruborem
sanguinis transformata.
Rudolf of Habsburg, crowned King in 1273, was seen as the new hope, the new order (Nova lux oriri visa est), after 23 years without an Emperor of the German Empire. He was the first Habsburg King and started a 500 years reign of the Habsburgs in Europe.
The Cologne Chronicles speak of the SIGN as an ominous sign, because it signalized the future death of King Philipp of Swabia. The writer of the chronicles of Colmar describes the SIGN as a sign of joy. The SIGN announced the happy message of the coronation of Rudolf.
