SIGN Theories
The apocalypse – the end of the world
IIn prehistoric times up to the medieval ages the SIGN was implicated not only with evil, but also with catastrophes and the apocalypse. Special phenomenons in the sky or signs on a wall, which had the shape of the SIGN, always appeared, when the world was threatened by death and doom. During the great pestilence under the government of emperor Justitian (527 – 565) 40 % of the population was killed. The SIGN often played a major role in the sources. They speak of „two circles which were connected by a line“ which appeared in the sky. In the years 1346 – 1352 the SIGN also was associated with the pestilence, which was widely spread over the Mediterranean area. In these times the so-called „pestilence flea“(lat. Xenopsylla Oheopsis) was examined and scientists found a marking on the skin of the flea, which was very similar to the SIGN. The flea was responsible for spreading the plague over the Silkroad to Astrachan at the Caspian Sea.
Due to the terrible consequences of the pestilence, which killed over two-thirds of the population, the SIGN retained the meaning of nemesis and doom over centuries. This conclusion seems obvious, after whole cities were razed out by the plague.
In the 18. century, due to scientific progress, the SIGN was widely regarded as superstition. Nevertheless the SIGN still appeared, even during the big plagues in India in 1898, during which about 6 million people died!
The medical science did make progress, that’s for sure! But it is a mistake to laugh at explicit signs and to ignore them. History has shown several times that superstitions have realistic roots.
Infinity
What is the Möbiusband?
The Möbiusband is named after its inventor, August Ferdinand Möbius (1790 - 1868), a German mathematician and astronomer. It is made by twisting one end of an ordinary strip of material round 180° and sticking the two ends together to form a continuous, one-sided surface. So it is a two-dimensional surface with only one side.
Like the studies show, the Möbiusband is very similar to the SIGN. This also came to the attention of some scientists in the late 19th century who dealt with the SIGN, i.e. Prof. Dr. Friedrich Freiherr von Sesbeck. They invented a theory, that the SIGN does not stand for the apocalypse, but in contrary, it means infinity and the recurrence of life.
The Möbiusband neither has a beginning nor an end, and so life itself is a recurring phenomenon. Death is beginning. And this is very similar to the fact, that the SIGN appears again and again.
