#3 Wayzata Takes Section 6AAAAA

Last Friday the Wayzata Trojans did something only done three times in the schools history, and that was to win the Section. Wayzata did this by defeating the (8-2) Maple Grove Crimson. The Trojans got off to a very slow start and came awake in the Second half to run away with the game. The final score Wayzata-34 Maple Grove-7

Quick and Dirty on the Game

Wayzata started out in the game quite slow, punting on its first 3 posessions. Maple Grove then took advantage of a 56 yard punt return by Senior Wide-Reciever Jacob Johnson. Turning it into the first 7 points of the game. Wayzata then awoke taking the rest of the game into their hands. Marion Barber had two interceptions, one which resulted in a Jordan Ruff 1 yard touchdown plunge. Nate Woodbury added another pick which resulted in a 36 yard pass to John Croyle and another Jordan Ruff 1 yard touchdown plunge. Maple Grove never answered after scoring the first touchdown of the game in the loss. Marion Barber also threw a 33 yard pass to Senior TE Joe Waldon which was a huge momentum crusher in the fourth quarter.
