A Note of Encouragement
Tommy was gifted in art, but like most people that develop a special talent
he also practiced relentlessly to develop his skills.
For those of you who
suffer from a disease or condition that prevents you from many activities,
I recommend that you acquire a passion for something that you can do.
Tom was not big on self pity.
When asked how he was feeling, he would usually
reply, "fine". Sometimes it was obvious from his tone or his
facial expressions,
that he felt anything, but fine. Still, he did not
want your pity and he didn't want a "free ride".
I commend these virtues to others that have disabilities.
