Why
these maps?
Well,
mainly because I've received an email stating that's what you guys really
want to play.
So enjoy! :)
As
stated in the previous tournament, it's hard to host only ONE map for
any tournament because I'm not sure I can find 16 "ONLY C6" or 16 "ONLY
GRUNT-WORK" players, etc.
The community simply isn't
large enough.
Again, each map is different--whether it be because the physical map
itself or the rules/properties applied (no air,
fast peons, etc)--and therefore lead to
different styles of
game and
play.
No map is "better" than the other...
Good players should be able to adapt and apply their knowledge
to the different
maps--and
again,
that is the REAL challenge of this tournament.
And if you don't play all the maps listed here, why not give it a
try?
Please don't be stubborn--stay open minded. If you are unwilling and not ready
to play all 6 of the maps listed below, then you probably shouldn't join the
tournament...
NOTE--IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SEND A SCREENSHOT AND YOU HAVE NOT VISITED THE SCREENSHOT TUTORIAL PAGE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ IT. I HAVE PROVIDED CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS WITH MINI PICTURES TO SHOW HOW TO TAKE AND SEND SCREENSHOTS.
VERY IMPORTANT: I have pre-selected the “correct version” of the maps to be used and renamed them to ensure when hosted, it is the actual approved map. I have checked the maps for “fairness” (rigged, resources, upgrade timings, extra units/strength, etc, etc). This also ensures W2Insight replays can be viewed by anyone properly.
All
players MUST use the provided maps only.
You can download all 6 maps as a zipped file
here.
All players must PRE-DOWNLOAD (see zipped file above ^, or links below) these specific maps from here before the tournament begins. You should save them in your war2 download maps folder (C:\Program Files\Warcraft II BNE\Maps\Download)
This tournament may include the following maps (listed in no specific order):
NOTE: Each map will be used no more than once. There will be four rounds to determine the final winner, meaning players could play up to four different maps this tournament. The actual maps used for which rounds will be randomly drawn and announced once the tournament begins.
Games must be hosted on the following settings:
Speed: Fastest
Resources: Map Default
Location:
FIXED
ORDER--SEE
MAP DETAILS**
(ONLY THE BGH 2HF's LOCATION IS TO BE HOSTED AS RANDOM).
**IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO HOST THESE MAPS....I CAN POST "MINI PICTURES"
OF HOW TO HOST EACH MAP (SLOTS, COLOURS, ETC) IF NECESSARY... POST ON
FORUMS/EMAIL ME FOR HELP AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE OF TOURNAMENT DATE.
ABOUT SPOTS: I really don't know if there's an advantage to be top/bottom on any of these maps, but basically if you guys REALLY can't agree on who will host and get what spots--I will "flip a coin" (using the bot's .flip command) to decide on who gets to host and be top, bottom, whatever, etc, etc.
Spots have been
reserved for the following players
(listed
in no specific order):
1. .CROM.
2. isuckverybad
3. .PIMPSH!T.

This tournament will be Single Elimination, <1 ON 1>.
Only 16
players will be allowed in the Tournament. Spots will be reserved on a
first come first serve basis.
You may make a formal request
to
reserve a spot in a tournament by filling out this form
here. You will receive a confirmation
(via email or whatever you prefer) when your spot has been reserved.
Again, I have decided that the finals will also be a Single Elimination and NOT Best of 3. This to ensure the tournament is less than 3hrs.
NOTE: Reserved spots will be forfeited should the player not be present 10 minutes before the Tournament begins.
This tournament will follow the Standard Tournament Rules.
