Here are a few tips
on how to prepare:

Emergency Measures Organization

Ensure your correct civic number is posted where
it can be seen clearly from the roadway day or night.
List emergency phone numbers and addresses by
the phone.
Prepare a home emergency kit including battery
powered radio and flashlight, extra batteries, first aid
kit, canned food and bottled water, medication, spare
clothes, and a whistle. Also prepare an emergency
kit for your car
.
Teach children how and when to call 911.
Take a first aid course.
Have a family meeting to discuss how you can be
better prepared:
  • Develop a family emergency plan.
  • Select a common meeting place for your family.
  • Choose one local and one distant family member
    or friend to call
    if your family gets seperated
    during an emergency.
