Fire Safety Tips

A Child's Fascination with Fire

The following was copied from the "Firefighters' Corner" column of the
August 08, 2006 edition of The Vanguard newspaper.

A number of fires are started each year by children playing with matches or lighters. Please be sure to keep an eye out for the following signs that your child may be playing with fire.

Things to watch out for - If you notice any of the following, your child may be involved in fire play:
1. Matches or lighters go missing.
2. Matches or lighters are found among your child's belongings.
3. There are burn marks on household items or your child's clothing or possessions.
4. Your child is extremely interested in fire.
