I took testosterone from September to December, 2003. I injected half a dose every two weeks, 125 mg of a mixture of four synthetic testosterones under the brand name Sostenon 250 (30mg propionate, 60mg phenylpropionate, 60mg isocaproate, 100mg decanoate).
The reasons why I decided to start taking testosterone were several. It wasn’t a decision taken lightly, and even if I didn’t go to an endocrinologist or doctor, I took precautions while using this product. The fact that I live in Mexico, and most drugs do not need prescription to be bought, was an important part of my decision to administer the hormone all by myself.
Given my sexuality, and the strong male chauvinistic society we have in Mexico, I’ve always hated being treated like a woman, like an inferior to males. That was a very important part in my decision to take testosterone for a few months, I wanted to stop males from looking down at me simply because I am female. I used to be able to pass as a guy about half the time, but the moment I spoke, the whole act fell down with an odd look and an apology: “Oh, sorry, ma’am”. The moment they realized I was a female, the attitude changed, if every so slightly, and you could tell the patronizing started.
I wanted to get rid of that voice. I never liked my voice, I found it too high pitched, particularly for the way I felt it should be, and so I never liked listening to myself on recordings or anything of the sort. I hated that voice. I had researched information about female-to-male transsexuals over the internet, many years before I even started considering using testosterone on myself. However, on 2003, coming out of the closet at school, I realized I had the power to change myself physically as I had done mentally. I researched more, and learned that some of the changes of testosterone were reversible, while some others weren’t. Some of the irreversible ones were the deepening of the voice and the increase in body hair. I was quite intrigued by the deepening of the voice, and after some more research, decided I would take testosterone for about 3 months so that I could change my voice.
Changing my voice was the main reason I took testosterone, but I welcomed some of the other changes. Taking testosterone helped me push my body slightly over the gender line, to stand closer to where I’ve always wanted to be: androgynous.
Ever since taking testosterone I pass as a male almost all the time, which has diminished in great degree the male patronizing. Now, seeing me as one of their own, I get all kinds of different treatment, like I'm an equal. I can now speak and not worry about not passing, and its a great relief.

I took an extra dose of 250 mgs of T a little less than a year from my last dose. The date is marked on the following calendar.

I took Testosterone for an additional 6 months from February to July, 2005. The dates are marked on the following calendar. All marked dates were of a 125 mg dose, except for those with an asterisk* next to them, which were 250 mg doses.
