A Game of Thrones = One BAD BOOK WAR Scale = 3 Ok i am not even going to mention who the author is because i don't want imbarress him. I'm a nice and sorta optimistic guy, but i am deffinetally not just going to hand out good scores to everything. This book was a nice attempt at a 6th grade writing assignment that the teacher passed with a "C" because that teacher had a migrane and partially blind. Yeah, that's how bad this book was. It's like one of those games where they imphasize graphix rather than plot and game play (yes i understand that i'm talking about most X-Box games, but that's reserved for a different WAR) There was a nice intro to the characters and the word choice was a bit vulgar but good enough to show the emotions of the characters. Had a nice dose of reality to it because people can die and easily. Was written in a nice pattern of character's points of view to sorta build suspense. But that's about the only good thing that I'm probably going to say about his book. I'm a fantasy reader and i have been told over and over again that i would love this book. I waited 2 months to get my hands on this book. And lets face it, this was a book written solely for the purpose of getting sales and money. There were not a true main character. There wasn't really a plot. There wasn't really a conflict or a purpose. There was almost no trials, but an expectation of a trial. This book could have been written like this and get everything it needed to say said: Mr. Dude is very honorable; he keeps remembering his past and a promise that we don't know about. He dies by Mr. Evil Kid. People are upset over his death, people go to war. War wins almost nothing. The End All other stuff he wrote was a bunch of nonsense. I mean half of the time he seemed to have taken an extra dose of viagra, the other half seemed like he was sorta drunk. I understand that its only the first book, but with a book like this for the first one. I hope that i would never see the second one. It was a great effort, but i don't want to ever read lame plot line on viagra. The story doesn't make you think at all. But you can deffinitally learn from this book. DON"T WRITE LIKE THAT! Just do me a big favor and don't pick up the book. For people out there that actually enjoyed the book let me say this: START MATURING AND GET A LIFE! That's all for now. - Wei |
