Alan
Dean Foster: This author has been a favourite of mine for
some time. I own and have read most of his 94 novels and many of his
short stories. He writes compelling and fast-paced science fiction.
Atomz.com:
The search engine on this site is powered by a web-based indexing
search engine offered by Atomz. My business, Dyband, uses this search
feature on their site - check
it out. They have an automated section where you can go and force
the re-indexing of your site when it has been changed, along with
several other tools. Free for sites under 500 pages, this is a great
resource.
Ayn Rand Institute:
Another favourite author, Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged"
was once voted the second most influential book of all time after
the Bible by the US Library of Congress.
Giant Bicycles:
I ride a road bike called a Giant Squadron. Giant Bicycles have been
around since 1972 and are great, sturdy yet lightweight bicycles.
Mandrake
Linux: - A great free distribution of an operating system
that is growing in popularity. This one makes me believe it may actually
get to mainstream status.
OANDA.com:
- Have you ever needed to convert a currency? Any currency? It happens
to me all the time (how much is $199 US in Canadian funds??) This
site is dedicated to that, I have been using it for a long time. They
use the Interbank rates and are reliable. You can also get historical
currency conversions. Very nice.
Peter Nilson:
Are you a movie, theatrical or television director or producer? Are
you looking for a hard-working, dedicated makeup, special effects
and prosthetics professional? You should take a look at Peter. He
has done some highly acclaimed work and would love to hear from you.
He is also a very good friend of mine.
ICRA: The
Internet Content Rating Association enables parents to set their browsers
to allow or disallow access to web sites based on the objective information
declared in a label and the subjective preferences of the user. As
a parent, I am concerned about the sheer volume of pornography and
hate on the Internet, something I am not ready to expose my children
to. I participate in and advocate the ICRA (you will see the label
on every page of my site).
Richard Guy
Briggs: Richard is a high school friend and potentially someone
you will hear more about very soon. Richard is a key member of the
all-Canadian team developing FreeS/WAN (Secure Wide Area Network),
a privately funded project meant to transform the online world into
an environment in which message privacy is the default setting. Richard
is also an avid cyclist and environmentalist - This is Richard's website,
it's worth a look.
Thomas
V. Welch: This was my great, great, great grand uncle, who
was the first Superintendant of the Niagara Falls State Reservation,
and was instrumental in the State Legislature in getting the Niagara
Falls area opened to the public. Please have a look! |
