Wednesday, December 25, 1889

I went to a dance at Oak Park. I had Jennie Tripp for my

partner. This is the first time that I ever took her any place.

Fulton came this morning he surprised us in good shape.

Thursday, December 26, 1889

I went down on my forty and come around by Edwards and

talked to Etta awhile. This is the first time I have got to see

her alone since last summer. I kissed her twice. The first in 3

1/2 years. If I was fixed in good shape I would ask her to

marry me.

Friday, December 27, 1889

We [ Hilda and Fulton and I ] went down to Mr. Harts funeral,

another of our old neighbors gone. The old settlers are fast

passing away and soon will be all gone. He was buried in the

St. Francis Cemetery where the most of them lay.

Monday, January 06, 1890

I took Mary out to St. Cloud to go to school. She is going to

board at Charley Hubbards. this will be the first time that she

went to school in the city.

Friday, February 07, 1890

Sister Kate had a little girl, named it Anna Catherine

Sylvester.
