I saw Etta at Kerricks tonight, the first time since I spent the
afternoon with her. I tried to speak with her alone but the

I came to St. Cloud last night. Today Fred Hart and I went up
to Sauk Rapids to the Republican County convention, this is
my first lesson in "politics" it being the first convention I ever
attended. I believe I would make a good politician. But I don't
believe in laying money out to work getting an office and I
never will unless I greatly change from what I am now. this
evening Fred sister, Hilda and I went down to see Whitneys
folks. Cora and Nell were at home both of them being our
"old teachers" and we had not saw them for nine years what a
good time we did have talking over "old times" and things
that had happened since we last met. I have grown from a
boy to a man. And I think my old teacher is as nice as any of
the girls. and if our ages were a little more equal I would try to
make a match.
