i love movies. i want to watch movies all the time every day
and only that. well, and eat, of course. and go to the bathroom. and sleep. and listen to music. and read. and go outside sometimes. um. okay, i take it back. i do love movies, though.
seen during spring break:
they might be giants; so funny, so creepy, so sad, so good. and who knew george c. scott could come off so attractive?? it deals with a man who has lost his wife and believes he is sherlock holmes and the psychiatrist who follows, and yes, her name really is dr. watson. mildred watson.
hardware; don't see it for content, see it for style and look only. it's set in a post-apocalyptic world that is increasingly over-populated. it involves a crazy robot, a kick-ass heroine (no, i mean it), a wimpy but cute doped up character called shades and dylan mcdermott with an artificial hand. looks very, very cool, that's all.
sleepy hollow; yes, again. still as eerily beautiful and creepy
and fun. mmmmm. love the dollar theater, even if it's too chilly inside it.
the sixth sense; still scares me in its spots. frrrr.
bowfinger; stop frowning! it be funny! conspiracy theories up the walls, hilarious bad acting, clip-on pony tails, braces, mocking scientology... must see.
what dreams may come; i was shocked. i'd dismissed it as a dumb-ass robin williams cgi movie. watched it. wow. suffice to say, tears were shed and heart muscles were moved. however, i don't think i can ever watch it again.
message in a bottle; robin wright penn in what is usually a meg ryan role made this worth it. much sadder and more quiet than you'd expect.
even kevin costner is tolerable. the only problem with this movie is that it stars kevin costner but isn't a costner movie. blah. never seeing that again either. :/
safe; julianne moore in claustrophobic indie movie. very small. very quiet. very scary and throught-provoking.
