My Spring Break

The Tedious retelling You all Dreaded.

Wednesday, march 10

I know I woke up, not quite sure when, and I know Angela called to make sure we were still spending the day together. After a nice shower, and feeling slightly more like a human, she picked me up around 12.30 pm, with Garrett in the backseat, and off we went.

It. Was. So. Much. Fun. No, really :) We spent all day walking around inside a big mall, and talking and talking and eating and playing with Garrett and walking and talking some more. I grew 10 feet when Garrett started to call me by my name, especially because I hadn't pressured him a la "Garrett, I'm Jennie. Jennnnnie. Can you say that? Come on, you can do it, Jennnie."... he just picked it up. It's just totally cool to be approved by a 19 month old person, y'know?

An extra perk is that, well, duh, Angela is a Tori Amos fan. It's just hilarious to go to a yogurt stand and squeak "They have Raspberry, and I can get it swirled!!", and have someone catch the reference. Her comeback was "Ask him if he wants inside you, well, boy you better make my raspberry swirled." *grin* Yes, I got the raspberry swirled, but he gave us the oddest look as we walked away. Another precious moment was later that evening at a Pizza Inn... our waitress had been at the make up a little bit too enthusiastic (I'm not trying to be mean, but her facial structure, and the thick, bright red lipstick and smudged blue eye shadow made her look like an actual clown.), which of course prompted a "Hey ask her if she's worked here a year yet!" from Angela, and a "No, no.. but if I ask her to bring me a club sandwhich, please thwap me." from me. Hehehe. Very dorky. Very funny :)

All in all, we had a long, fun day. I finally found the photography book "Pool of Light" By Howard Schatz at the Barnes & Noble, and got Angela hooked on the beautiful ethereal images of humans under water as I have been since I first saw one of the pics in a magazine last winter.

*sigh* She teased me a bit when we walked into a store with comic book things, like cells from Batman cartoon and superman t shirts. See she happens to know all these neat comic book illustrators (she's even been drawn into at least two), and at home there are boxes and boxes of comic books and action figures and argh... so jeallous :)

She asked me if I wanted to come start baby sitting the next day while she was home so I could get some practise, and she could get some stuff done while I watched Garrett, and I of course said yes. And so she drove me home.

"The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round... The wheels on the bus go round and round, all through the town."
