I started on this diaper sewing project not long ago and have been enjoying every minute of it. I have not sewed anything in my life before but I managed to learn to sew my own diaper cover in one Saturday afternoon. Thanks to my great sister who helped me with my first piece. Ever since I started on sewing my own diaper covers, I have been sewing, sewing, sewing! So mummies, if I can do it, so can you!
I bought most of my sewing stuff from Spotlight. For a start, I use mostly scrap cloth either from old receiving blankets or bed sheets. After I master the skill, I proceeded to buy some flannel and fleece from Spotlight. So far, I have only made mainly diaper covers of various fabrics and not fitted diaper or all-in-ones. Reason being I want to make use of my existing ever so many flats with my covers so that washing and drying is also easier and faster. No doubt, I think I will still attempt to make one or two fitted diapers if I can find some scraps enough to make them. So far, I have been very happy with my hard work. My next attempt would be waterproof cover of army print for Keagan. Will post it here if it's successful. Meanwhile, here are some links for making your own diapers:
