CONVERSATION ON A DATE

The best dates are those where conversation flows freely and naturally. And just about any topic is suitable for a date, but you'll find there will be moments when nothing is being said. For many people this is uncomfortable. If this happens, DO NOT say anything. This will show that you are a patient person who's not affraid of silence. This also forces your date to find something to say. Again, you remain in control.

Things you should NOT talk about are:

* bodily functions (normal or abnormal)

* your psychiatrist

* your wife/husband

If, in the course of the evening, you sense that things are going too well and your date likes you better than you like them, there are several things you can do:

* play with your food (like putting olives on the ends of your fingers and doing a puppet show)

* fling food at your date without warning.

* fling food at the people one table over

* burp or fart loudly, then slap your knee and laugh hysterically

* talk about your wife or husband

* talk about your psychiatrist

Any one of these, or a combination of these, should easily make your date less starry eyed. Incidentally, if you're dating a friend, these things will have not have the same effect. Of course, there is always a chance that any of these antics will only serve to make your date love you even more. In this case, it is best to marry this person right away. Anyone who can overlook these antics, and laugh along is worth snapping up. Happiness is practically guaranteed.
