Rites of Passage


In the daily lives of each person in every society there are milestones which hold spiritual significance to both the individual and the society. Each society and at times each group in a society will celebrate these miliestones differently. Here is a list of the major milestones in the life of the individual, information about how the Romans marked the occassions and suggestions as to how a Numinist Family may choose to mark these Rites of Passage.

Death & Funeral

The dead Greek or Roman attended his/her funerals (for burial or creamtion) with a bronze coin in the mouth. This coin was to pay Charon, the ferryman, for passage to the Land of Orcus.
