Welcome to Prism's little corner of the net! Prism is the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgendered (GLBT) and straight friends alliance at Truman State University. Over the past year our membership has grown and we felt that it was time for us to have a webpage, so here it is! This has been recently updated and it continues to be updated as frequently as I can what with classes and all.
Goals
The main goal on Prism's list at the moment is the creation of a GLBT resource center on campus. If you would like to show your support for this please send a letter to President Jack Magruder! click on "Support Prism" on the left and it will take you to the page with all of the relevant info! Other than that, Prism is concerned with providing a friendly and safe environment for GLBT and straight friends to congregate and share ideas, as well as providing information for the students, faculty, and staff in regards to GLBT issues, and finally to promote better relations between students, faculty and staff. Meetings
Our regular meetings are on Thursday nights at 8pm in Ophelia Parish. All are welcome to attend. The first half of the meeting is usually dedicated to business, then there is a short break, and after that there is a discussion on a topic, or depending on what is planned there could be a social event or a presentation of some sort. Steering Committee
Steering Committee is the governing body of Prism. It is made up of at the moment, nine positions. People are elected for one semester terms to the Steering Committee. Below is the current Steering Committee.
