I am a 43 year young woman with over 22 years experience in the IT industry. During my time I have designed, built, programmed, pre-sold, sold, supported and upgraded a variety of systems. My predominant fields are ASP, VB, C, NT, Unix, Perl, HTML, CGI, Databases, Administration, Intranets, Internet, Networking and customer support.

• Expert in Oracle, Apache and NCSA Web Servers and Good in the Netscape Web Server.
• Expert in TCP/IP, DNS, Networking, Intranets, Firewalls, Accounting Systems, Mining and Resource packages, Documentation and Technical Writing and Good in Systems programming.

My dream job is where:

• I can study and research the internet, unix and associated advanced technologies and invent solutions that really help people in real-world situations
• I can travel to conferences and seminars to discover new technologies and how they can be applied.
• I can write technical solutions manuals that cover the above.
• I can teach and advise clients how a solution works and how it can work for them.
• I can create working demonstration systems that show how the technology can be used.
• I can be part of that solution.
• I can write and study in a busy, happy, efficient and tidy office surrounded by people who really want to do what they are doing.
• I can be around positive and motivated clients.
• I can work with a team of people who can take my designs and ideas and make them work..

I am familiar with both customer contact and large scale systems administration having been responsible for handling Sun Microsystems software support for Western Australia and redesigning and implementating Western Mining Corporations Unix network comprising some 115 servers scattered across the country. These jobs required extensive contact with all members of staff from drafties to managing directors.

I have attached the first chapter from my book 'SunOS System Administration' as an example of my technical writing skills. This book was considered to be the standard reference for Western Mining Corporation during my time with them and was considered for publication by O’Reilly and associates before the demise of SunOS.
