...Orange Sound website
launched
<Friday, August 1,
2003> After a seemingly endless cycle of changes,
modifications and re-designs, (not to mention a great deal of self-doubt)
the Orange Sound website is finally launched.
A special thanks to Mr. Terry Avon of Pathun Thani, a long-time
resident of Thailand, who read the original draft of the novel 'Orange
Sound' and made some useful and insightful comments and
recommendations.

The 'Orange Sound' Forum has been suspended. In retrospect, opening the forum was not a particularly good idea: the scope of the forum was too limited and was never really likely to generate enough posts to make it viable or interesting. I now have plans to widen the scope of this site to make it more of a personal web presence and not just a vehicle that attempts to promote my novel.

All advertisements for Amazon have been removed from this page. E-mail addresses on this site have been changed in order to tackle the problem of spam.

6, 2003, until February 7, 2004, has risen to 74. There were 681 downloads
of the first-part of the novel during this period.
<Sunday,
December 7,
2003> There
has been a substantial increase in the average daily number of unique
visitors to this site; for the period October 29 to December 5, the figure
stood at 57. However, over the past ten days or so, this has risen sharply
up to 128. From October 29 until December 5, 559 people downloaded part 1 of
the book in PDF format, and 107 people loaded it in MS Word format.

now available from the Orange Sound Shop.
<Tuesday, October 28,
2003> There has been a
modest rise in the average daily number of visitors to the site this
month, which now stands at 32 (a rise from 26 per day in

format of the first part of the novel, and 51 in MS Word format. In other
words, over 400 people have read or have started to read 'Orange Sound'
this month.
I have removed the large 'dot wav' file (i.e.
sound file) that was downloaded when the Guestbook were accessed. It
is possible that this download was acting as a disincentive to
signing the Guestbook.
<Wednesday, October 8,
2003> Some changes were made to the
main page, including one small addition for the run up to the
Christmas season!

<Tuesday, October 7,
2003> A historical landmark: the
'Orange Sound' website achieved its one-thousandth visitor today!
Hopefully, that figure will soon represent the daily number of
visitors to the site.
<Monday, October 6,
2003> A
PayPal payment scheme, allowing for a small donation of
1$ U.S. to be made (from anywhere in the world) towards the upkeep of
this site, was introduced
on the main page.
<Wednesday, October 1,
2003> Two calendar months
have now passed since the site was first launched; there have been more
than 900 visitors during that time.
<Saturday, September 20,

the first part of the novel has been accessed (to date) 180 times, with
the corresponding MS Word document accessed 55 times.
<Saturday, September 13,
2003> I have begun a personal log
on this website (see main menu above). Apologies for the rather whimsical
and arbitrary content!
<Thursday, September 11,
2003> The obligation
that readers must contact me for usernames and passwords in order to
download the novel has now been removed.
<Wednesday, September 10,
2003> Here are some
readers' comments about 'Orange Sound' (condensed from the originals) sent
to me so far:
(1) Your story was very interesting, and, I believe,
a novel concept. ...it was cohesive and very entertaining.
(S.F.)
(2) I enjoyed very much reading your novel Orange Sound (in
fact Orange Sound was the first novel I read on [a] web site).
(S.H.)
(3) Please email me the password so that I can read the rest
of your novel. So far it's been very interesting, especially the
Thai/British culture fusion. (S.C.)
(Thank you, to the
above readers)
<Wednesday, September 3,
2003 - ammended from August 6, 2003> A special printed
version of the novel 'Orange Sound' is now available from the Orange Sound
