Plot: This story is a "what if?", in this case, "What if 'Will & Grace' was set in the 1940s in a murder myster?" . So all the characters are still the same personality wise, but now they have different jobs, don't know each other as well, etc. Will is a detective who is hired by Grace to solve a case. The cast is listed below and what character they're playing.

SCENE IV:
(GRACE IS SOBBING ON WILL'S JACKET. WILL IS TRYING NOT TO RECURL AS SHE BLOWS HER NOSE INTO IT AND CLAWS AT HIS FACE IN AGONY)
GRACE: "Whhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyy!! Whhhhhhhhhhyyyy Willlll? Whhhhhhhyyyy?!!"
WILL: "Ms. Adler, don't worry. Not everyone thinks that you have bad fashion sense. I mean, the hat looks okay." (PAUSE) "If only you got rid of the feather. (PAUSE) "Okay it's true, you suck."
GRACE: "Will! Do you have no grief for what just happened to Josh?! (SCREECHING) Someone here was murdered tonight. Someone I knew. Was murdered here tonight! (STILL SCREECHING) Did I say that already? (PAUSE) You think my hat looks bad?"
WILL: "You're right Ms. Adler, and not just about the hat. I think I should start interviewing some people about what happened at the scene of the crime. Maybe you'd better go home and get some rest, you know, and burn your clothes."
GRACE: "No! I'm not leaving! I'm staying put until we find out who murdered Josh!" (BEN WALKS PAST AND THEN EXITS) "Ben! Beeeennnn!! We can work through this, you can't break up with me! I'm too pretty!"
(GRACE LEAVES WILL AND RACES TOWARDS THE DOOR, BUT NOT BEFORE TRIPPING OVER JOSH'S DEAD BODY, WHICH IS BEING STUDIED BY TWO OFFICERS BY THE PIANO. SHE GETS HER BIG RED SHOE CAUGHT IN BETWEEN HIS ARM AND WAIST, AND THEN FINALLY RUSHES THROUGH THE EXIT)
WILL {VOICE-OVER}: (SIGHS) "Women." (PAUSE) "The worst had past, the killer had taken its victim, just like clothes and Grace, now it was time to find out who had done the dirty deed, and I don't mean in the good way."
(TAKES OUT A NOTEPAD AND A MICKEY MOUSE PEN, HE SEES THE PEN AND QUICKLY PUT IT BACK IN HIS POCKET AND PUTS OUT A PLAIN BLACK ONE. HE OPENS HIS NOTEPAD, AND TURNS THE PAGE SO THAT THE CARTOON PICTURES ARE CLEARED. ROSARIO WHO IS WEARING HER MAID'S UNIFORM PASSES AND WILL QUICKLY STOPS HER)
WILL: "Excuse me maid, would you mind if I asked you a few questions about the murder tonight?"
ROSARIO: "Maid? What do you think I am? The help? It's a costume dummy, my name is Bernadette, and I'm a lounge singer. I wasn't at the scene of the murder, go ask someone else."
(KAREN PASSES BY AND TAPS ROSARIO ON THE SHOULDER)
KAREN: "Listen Rosario, didn't I tell you I wanted the club cleaned? Wait? Did I? I can't remember, I'm too drunk! (LAUGHS) Well shift it! I want all the windows crystal clear."
(KAREN LEAVES)
ROSARIO: "What does that lady expect from me? The windows are screened. And the only time she will ever see anything crystal clear is when she takes her eyes away from the bottom of her glass of wine."
WILL: "Listen, Rosario. I just want to ask a few quick questions, is that alright with you?"
ROSARIO: "Hurry up."
(SPEAKING AT REALLY FAST PACES)
WILL: "Did you know Josh?"
ROSARIO: "Knew of him."
WILL: "Did you see who killed him?"
ROSARIO: "No."
WILL: "Where were you when the murder occurred?"
ROSARIO: "Scrubbing toilets."
WILL: "Do you know who killed him?"
ROSARIO: "Yes."
WILL: "What?"
ROSARIO: "No?"
WILL: "Huh?"
ROSARIO: "I don't think so."
WILL: "You know who killed Josh?"
(PAUSE)
ROSARIO: "Interview is over, I have to go clean the bottoms of wine glasses."
(ROSARIO RUNS OFF, WILL TRIES TO FOLLOW HER BUT ONE OF THE OFFICERS CALLS OUT TO HIM)
OFFICER: "Mr Truman, Josh is alive!"
(WILL RUSHES OVER TO JOSH'S BODY)
JOSH: "The - person - who... killed - me, was...." (HEAD FALLS LIMP AND HIS TONGUE STICKS OUT TO THE SIDE.)
OFFICER: (SCARED AND SURPRISED) "Oh my god, he's dead!!"
(WILL GLARES AT HIM.)
