To qualify for enrollment at the WHA Alternative
Program, students must be 16 years of age and meet at least one
of the additional criteria:
- Senior in jeopardy of an untimely graduation
- At least one year behind in credit accumulation
- Pregnant or a parent
- Assessed as chemically dependent
- Excluded or expelled from school
- Referred by a school district
- Victim of physical or sexual abuse
- Experiencing mental health problems
- Experienced homelessness sometime within
the past six months
Or:
- Speaks English as a second language
- Has withdrawn from school or has been
chronically truant
