There was a knock at the door. "Josh?" his mother said on the other side. "There's a Sergeant Nelson to see you," she stuck her head inside a little, and sent a small smile to her oldest child. He needed all the smiles he could get his hands on at the moment.
He managed to give his mother a tiny smile back. "Alright," he said, lifting himself off of the bed, and walking down the stairs ahead of his mother. In the foyer stood the officer, nervously clutching his hat. JC's stomach did some flip-flops. He already didn't have a good feeling about this. "Yes?" he asked.
"Good evening sir," Sergeant Nelson said quietly. "We've been trying to locate you for quite some time," he said.
"I've been right here," JC said, opening his arms to gesture around him.
"Um yes...the chief and D.A. would like you to come in for...for questioning."
JC just about passed out. They think he did it. They thought he killed his fiancée and her brother. Oh God. Oh God. He wanted to throw up and scream and just plain die. But all he did was nod and say, "Just a minute." The Sergeant nodded, and JC left him to go to the kitchen. "Did you hear that?" he said to his mother, who was calmly drinking a cup of tea.

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone. He would have thought she'd hung up, except he could hear her breathing heavily into the receiver on the other end. She sounded nervous. "Have you been ill lately?" she asked finally.
The achey muscles and joints, the cough, his pneumonia... they all flooded his mind. How did she know? Why did she care? "I-- yes."
Oh God oh God oh God oh God," she repeated over and over as quickly as her senses would allow. She sounded close to tears, and JC began to worry. Why did his sudden bouts of illness bother her so much?
Excuse me," he addressed her cautiously. "I don't mean to be rude but... what's wrong? And how did you know I've been sick?"
JC I-- I'm so sorry." She was crying now. Why was she crying?

I'm Katherine, and my dad is JC Chasez. Of the group *N Sync. Well, it's not really an active group anymore, they've settled down and got families and stuff. Obviously. There's me, right? Like I said, I don't know what makes me overly special. I'm just a mix of my parents.
Why have I mentioned nothing of my mother, other than her complexion, which is about the only nice thing I can say about her by the way? I don't know her. I know her name and even what she looked like, at least thirteen years ago. She just picked up and left my dad and me when I was five years old. I, of course, like a normal, naive five year old assumed that she would be back, even though I had gotten the vibe from my dad that she wouldn't be. And of course, he was right. She didn't come back.
I looked at my ridiculously long list of homework, and this was only my third class. I added 250 word essay on importance of paying attention for Henricksen. I laughed. Lucky for me, the bell rang and Mr. Henricksen never got the chance to ask what I was laughing about. That man is crazy about giving extra homework.

Was it really worth it? That was the question. Her parents fighting, her little sister doing drugs...drugs! She was only twelve! Suicide, for some people, is the only way out. For the rest, it's the cowards way out. Was it really worth it?
Of course it is, Adriana thought. She could feel the early morning dew settling heavy on her shoulders. The sunrise was coming soon. If she was going to do it, she was going to have to do it now. She took out her father's pocket knife, and hurriedly carved Adriana Meggars 2001 into the rail, and she took the first step. She made it over the rail, and was sitting on it, looking into the water. It had rained a lot lately, so the water was a bit higher, and the current swifter than usual. She looked down, and she thought of everyone. Her friends at graduation next month, her little cousins sleeping under her care every other Saturday night. She breathed deeply. It's not worth it, she thought. She tried to turn around to get off, but slipped, and barely caught on the rail. She looked down. If she let go, would she be able to swim for shore? "Help me!" she yelled. "Please someone help me!"

I turned my neck to see Chris sitting in a chair, reading some kind of psychology magazine. "Chris, what the hell am I doing here?" I asked.
His head snapped up, at attention and focused on me. "JC!!" he said, popping up loaded with ever present energy, and then bending down and tried to hug me, best that he could with me being in a hospital bed, connected to machines, some with...insert shudders here...needles.
"Okay, Chris, get off me, what's going on here?" I asked.
"What do you want to know?" he asked, regaining a little control. He sat in the chair, bouncing his leg up and down. Nice to see somethings never, ever change.
"Like how did I get here?" I asked.
"Well," he started. "You and Rosie were in a car accident."

Sara searched for her not so wonderful date for the evening. He was no where to be found. Never again would she let herself be set up. She had endured the worst evening of her life and was ready to go home. I so need a drink! She thought as she headed towards the crowded bar. She tried squeezing in to get the bartenders attention. Five minutes must have passed and nothing.
Quickly she turned to leave the bar not realizing the hard body that was standing behind her. It was JC. She ran head first in to his rock hard chest. Thankfully the lighting was dim or else he would have noticed how red she turned from her embarrassment. His lips moved, but the loud music made it hard to hear his words.
“What?” She asked, practically shouting.
“Are you okay?” He knelt down, speaking into her ear. He must have been at least six or seven inches taller than she was. His breath tickled her skin and if she had been okay before, she certainly wasn’t now.

I just went to her room to let her know that I was home if she needed help on her homework, but she was already doing it at her desk with her *N Sync CD playing. I looked at her back which was facing me, focusing my stare on the middle of her back. It's a game we play, a way of annoying each other. Aside from our seperate music tastes of course. She caught on immediately, turned around and said, "Hi."
"Hi," I answered. The conversation earlier with Kari still in the back of my mind, I experimented on my sister. I kept staring. I didn't even mean to do it, I was doing it subconciously.
"What?" she asked nervously.
"What?" I asked back, knowing that I was making her nervous.
"Why are you staring at me?" she asked, almost scared, I could hear it in her voice.
"Why do you think I'm staring at you?" I asked, desperate to keep the experiment going.

JC sat at the top of the rocky hill just outside of Orlando. This was their place. Their place where they would go and just talk. Or they would go there and just be, an opportunity that his occupation didn't allow him very often.
He would love to just go there with her, and talk or just lay and be with her. What did they talk about? Everything. When it was sunny out, they'd talk about everything, from work, or what crazy prank Chris had pulled off the week before, or what smack talk Eminem came up with that week. JC liked to talk to her, because she wasn't analyzing every little thing that he said, and picking it apart and dissecting like the media would do so often. She would listen, and give her advice or opinion, and not judge. That was one thing he had loved. When it was night, they'd lay there and look at the stars, and sharing a kiss every now and then.

"Hi? JC?" a feminine voice asked on the other end.
"Umm, hi...who is this?" he asked, still a little groggy and disorientated.
"This is Erika," she answered.
"Oh, hey Erika, what's up?" he asked, thinking about Erin's little sister. They looked so much alike, no one would ever mistake them for anything but. On the inside, they were as different as the moon and the sun. And if you had to assign one to each, you would give the moon to Erin, because she was quiet, but shone with a light all her own, but never met a stranger. The sun would have gone to Erika hands down, because she was outgoing, and one of the most popular girls in her class, and a partier all the way.
"I'm doing alright, but-" she broke off and JC realized for the first time how much it sounded like she either had been or was crying.
"Ka, what's wrong?" he asked, using her nickname. "Are you in trouble?" he asked.
"No!" she said hurriedly. "I'm perfectly fine, but -- I...I'm at the hospital," she said. "It's... It's Erin."

"Honey? Josh, what's wrong?"
Mom I--" his brow furrowed, still in disbelief of his actions. "I can't believe... I hit Katie, Mom... I hit her... hard."
"God Almighty." She pulled him into a tight hug. After a moment, she turned away and called out, "Roy? Roy, come out here, please."
Roy Chasez poked his head out of his study. "What is it, Darlin'?"
"You know that talk we never had with Josh? I think the time's finally come."
"Now? Why now?"
"Because he..." tears glistened in her eyes. "He hit Katie." Roy abandoned whatever he'd been working on and sat down on the couch in their family room. Karen walked JC around to the other side of the coffee table and sat him on the loveseat before going back to sit beside her husband on the couch. "JC, there's something... there's something we never told you... about your past," his father began. "You know you're adopted. That you remember."
"Yeah."
"But what you... what you've blocked out... is where you came from." Roy took a deep breath and glanced at his wife.

God. She didn't know what she would do if this moment ever ended. She was on a cloud, floating on the breeze. With him, life was pure heaven.
~

He reached under the conforter, and found her hand. He took hold of it, and noticed how cold they were. He took the hand and rubbed it in his own, feeling it grow warm.
~

A person could get lost in his eyes if they were not careful. Somedays that woud suit her just fine. The days when pressure was laid on her, she would just head for him, were he available.
~

So many things to love about him. His eyes. His voice. His personalilty. His smile. But nothing compared to his shoulders, not for her. His shoulders were strong. They fit in easily with his tall, slight frame.
~

He sighed, knowing not to push the issue further with her. He wouldn't win. No one could win arguement with her. Another thing that wasn't quite right with her.
~

She saw that this piece of music, this masterpiece, written for her and her alone, was something that he had spoken from his soul. He had put every emotion and you could feel the passion radiating from him. The melody and the song got softer, and slower, until it seemed to fade away.
~

He considered that deep and meaningful statement, and he said, "I would like to try that. Sleep like I've never slept before..." he trailed off.
~

To everyone else, the relationship was perfect. And it was. Becase it was meant to be. Worked out to the tiniest detail, like tiny geometries, where there was no evidence to contradict otherwise.

Laurie was impressed as JC lead her to a table that was set for two with two candles softly burning. JC set her down in a chair and left the room. She looked around the room. JC could be so romantic when he wanted to be. She noticed that a single red rose lay in front of her.
As she picked up the rose to smell it, something cool slid against the fingers that held the rose. She took ahold of the object. Into her hand fell a gold ring with a diamond. Tears weld up in her eyes as she looked at the ring. It was a simple ring. Perfect for her.
"Here let me,"
Laurie was knocked out of her train of thought as JC took the ring from her hand. He got down on one knee, took ahold of her right hand, and slid the ring onto her finger.
"Marry me, Lauren Michelle Grant."
All she could do was nod yes.

There was a chill in the night air as JC stepped out of his house. The wind whipped his flannel pajama pants around his legs as he made his way through the woods. Despite the darkness, he dodged the trees expertly, a familiar part of his nocturnal habit. His Addidas sandals slapped dully on the weathered boards of the bridge as he walked to the railing. He leaned over slightly and looked at the rushing waters below. He felt eyes burning into his back, but turned to see nothing but the starry sky. Chalking it all up to paranoia, he leaned back over the railing.
"I guess this is the last time I'll be talking to you for a while," his voice cut thinly through the night air.

The drill went on for about an hour; the fans would come through, talk to each guy in turn, get an autograph and maybe a hug, then run off squealing. That is, until a child approached JC seemingly from nowhere.
The girl couldn’t have been more that three years old, with a wild mane of tawny hair passed her shoulders and slanted green eyes. Her skin was dark for a dishwater blonde, and her smile was… unusually sly.
“Well hi there sweetheart, what can I do for you?” JC asked, leaning around the end of the table to see her.
She didn’t answer. Instead, she walked over to him and looked deep into his eyes. There was more maturity and knowledge in her eyes than there should have been. Reaching up with one tiny hand, she gingerly touched his cheek.
“It is mine and I want it back.”

"Lia. I..I have a girlfriend. This is going to piss her RIGHT off, I have the band, I'm a song writer, I-" he said before she cut in.
"I'm dying." she whispered through his ranting, causing him to stop.
"You're what?" he said in shock.
"I'm dying. I need you to take care of your son after I'm gone. I have no family, no one to take care of him. If you won't take him then he'll go up for adoption, and you DON'T want that, do you?" she asked, causing a pain to shoot through his chest.
With tears in his eyes, he looked over at the small boy in whom his blood flowed.
"He's...He's gorgeous, Lia. What is his middle name?" he asked, trying to forget the last part of their conversation.
