When the two guys got to the top of the stairs they heard more voices then just Gina and Liz. They were young voices though. Nikolas smiled, “It’s Lulu and Lucas. Come on.”
They entered the room and the kids turned to see who it was. Both of their faces dropped in surprise. Lulu was the first to recover and she ran to Lucky. “Lucky!” He caught her and picked her up hugging her tight.
“Oh Lu look how big you got. I’ve missed you so much sweetie.”
“Lucky I though…Mommy said…”
“I know honey. I know all of that. But I’m not, okay?” He put her down and looked at her. “You’ve grown up so much sweetie. Has Nikky been taking care of you?”
“Uh huh. But I missed you. Mommy said I’d never see you again. I’m eight now you know?”
“Yeah I know. He Lucas what’s up? Are you to big of a man now to give me a hug?” Lucky looked at his cousin. Lucas was eleven years old now.
He thought about it for a minute and then walked to Lucky and gave him a hug. “Where’d you go? Was you gone like Roy was?”
“Yeah I was. But I’m back now just like him.”
Bobbie had come into the room and heard Lucas’s question. “Lucas honey don’t pester Lucky with questions.” She kissed her son on the head and then gave Lulu a hug. “I bet your one happy little girl right now aren’t you?”
They all talked for a long time. Lucky felt so good being with them all. Roy came into the room with Lorenzo. As soon as he put him down the little boy immediately went and lifted his arms for his daddy to pick him up. Lucky did, and Lorenzo kissed him on the cheek. Lucky smiled at him and looked at Liz. She was sitting beside him, he knew she was still in shock over him being alive. He took her hand and held it tight. “I have to go somewhere. Nikolas will you take Lorenzo and Liz to Mom’s?”
“Lucky where are you going?” asked Liz with a worried face.
Lucky didn’t answer. He couldn’t lie to her but he knew if he told her she’d get upset. So he put Lorenzo on her lap kissed them both and said, “I’ll see you in a little while. I love you.”
Lucky walked through the park and passed Kelly’s. He walked onto the docks. There was no one around except a kid that looked to be about his age. He didn’t know him but the kid kept looking at him strangely. Lucky just walked a little further down until he saw her. There was no need to go to the yacht she was sitting on the bench at the docks. She smiled and stood up when she saw him. “You have a lot of guts for someone who just spent the last three years locked up.”
“I want you to stay away from me. No notes, no threats, you leave me and my family alone.”
“Obviously we didn’t spend enough time together while you were in my care. I will get you Lucky. Your father crossed me and he’s paid for it and now it’s your turn. I know just the way to do it too. Your son will be two years old soon. How fast they grow.”
Lucky lunged for her throat. “You listen to me Helena Cassidine I have put up with you for the last two and a half years of my life. I won’t do it anymore.” He was holding tight on her neck when he felt someone pull him off. It was the kid he’d seen just a few minutes ago. The kid was holding him back. “Your lucky this time Helena. But hear me now, if you EVER, threaten my family, that includes Nikolas and Elizabeth and my son, I swear I will kill you.”
Helena smiled at him and started to leave, “Your lucky that boy pulled you off me. But now you hear this, I will be the one that kills you. But first I will make you suffer.” She turned and left.
The kid let go of Lucky. “You okay?”
Lucky turned to him and looked at him. They were about the same height, and age. “What’s your problem man?”
“My problem? I just didn’t want to see you kill that bitch and then go to jail since you just got back.” He answered just as aggressive as Lucky has asked him.
Lucky stared at him. He had no clue who this kid was. He was about to ask when Emily came down the stairs. She saw the two of them face to face. “Hey guys? Lucky? Juan? Knock it off.”
They both looked away from each other and at her. “What are you doing here Em? You should be by yourself. Helena knows I care about you, and she’ll use you against me. How do you know him?”
“Relax Lucky. Ned dropped me off and Juan is my boyfriend and he was meeting me here.”
“I can take care of my girlfriend don’t you worry about that.”
Lucky didn’t like this kid. He wasn’t sure why but there was something about him. “Emily has been my best friend since we were eleven years old. I will worry about her as much as I want to.”
“Who do you think you are? You’ve been gone three years, you don’t even know her anymore. Or your own girlfriend, I know your son better than you do.” Juan had gone too far and he knew it when Lucky threw a punch at him. The two started fighting while Emily yelled in the background.
Lucky felt him self being torn from Juan and Juan felt the same thing. Sonny and Jason were there. Elizabeth had called them as soon as Lucky left. “Lucky stop!” yelled Sonny holding him back. Jason had Juan and he had already calmed down. Lucky calmed down and Sonny said, “Now, what’s going on?”
“This maniac attacked Helena Cassidine. I tried to help out and he wen crazy on me. Then he tells me that I can’t protect Emily.”
“Juan he didn’t say that. You just don’t know okay?” said Emily.
“Lucky what the hell were you doing out here? First of all you shouldn’t be any where near that old lady and second you should be at home with your family.” Said Jason.
“I’m leaving right? I’ve been gone three years to come home and leave again. If I had a choice I’d stay and I’d kill that bitch myself.” Lucky tore himself out of Sonny’s grasp and walked away from them all.
“Jason that isn’t Lucky.” Said Emily holding back tears. Juan put his arm around her. “He was like a totally different person. I mean he’s always been protective but never out of control.”
“Em, he’s been through a lot. Things like that changes a person. What did you say to him?” Sonny asked Juan.
“I went over board. I am sorry for that but he made me so mad. Who is he to tell Emily where she should and should not be?”
“If Lucky said she shouldn’t be by herself he was right. Helena knows you two were good friends and that he cares for you.” Said Jason.
“Emily I’m going to put a guard on you. You want anyone, or one of mine?”
“Well I really don’t want someone I don’t know.”
“Put Johnny on her. He’s the best.”
“Yeah I’ll do that. Go get back to your wife. This is your wedding day. I’ll take care of Lucky Spencer.” Said Sonny.
Lucky walked into his house. His dad was on the couch. “Where’d you go?”
“Where do you think?”
“Docks. She do that to you?” Luke asked as Liz came into the room.
“No uh, I got into a fight with Emily’s boyfriend.”
“Juan? Why did you fight with him? He’s a great guy.” Asked Liz.
“He stuck his nose in buisness where it didn’t belong. I don’t like that kid. How long has Emily been going out with him?”
“Since a few months after the fire. He’s a good kid Cowboy. He kind of reminds me off you.”
“How so?”
“Well when he first came to town he was looking for Sonny, he thought Sonny was his dad. Lily is Juan’s birth mother. Sonny kept trying to tell him he wasn’t the father but Juan didn’t believe him. Juan tried everything to get him to notice him. He’s street smart, and he’s persistent, and he loves Emily. Lucky he’d do anything for her, he won’t let anything happen to Em.” Liz said.
Just then there was a knock on the door. Lorenzo came flying in the room. “Who it mama?”
Liz and Lucky both laughed. “Hang on a second Renzo nobody’s gotten it yet.” Said Liz as Lucky went to answer the door. When he opened it Juan and Emily came in. “Hey Em, hey Juan. Oh he got you good too.” She said looking at Juan’s identical bruise.
“Yeah if Jason and Sonny hadn’t stopped them they’d probably still be fighting.” Said Em.
“Aunt Em, Unca Juan! You came see me?” said Lorenzo running to them.
Juan laughed and picked him up, “Don’t we always little man.” Juan gave him a hug and the boy held his arms out to Emily and she took him. Juan walked over to Lucky, “What I said was out of line. I had no right to say that.”
“Your right, but it was true. Everyone in this town knows my son better than I do. But what I said about Emily I won’t apologize for. She needs to be kept safe.”
“Johnny’s outside Lucky. I have him on me until this is all taken care of. I’ll be fine.”
“Good.” Said Lucky. His head hurt and he felt sick. He had been sick a lot lately. He felt dizzy and Luke noticed so he got up and put a hand on his shoulder. “I’m fine dad.”
“No you’re not Cowboy. Why don’t you go upstairs and get some sleep.” Before Lucky could protest he said, “You made your way here son, and you had to explain some pretty rough stuff. I know you’re tired. Go upstairs.”
Lucky was asleep in his old room. It didn’t really look the same anymore. It had some of his stuff in it but a lot was missing. Before he’d fallen asleep he had remembered Faison telling him Luke had tore apart his room. He wasn’t sure if today had gone right. He shouldn’t have sprung himself on Elizabeth in front of all those people.
Elizabeth watched him sleep. She was looking at him sadly. They boy she used to know was inside that man somewhere. She’d seen him at the brownstone. But he didn’t sleep peacefully as he used to. He tossed and turned and he was sweating. She wanted to wake him up and to ease what hurt. Before she had a chance Lucky screamed “NO!” and then sat up quickly. Liz went and sat beside him on the bed. She put her hand on his face and told him it was okay. “Elizabeth. You’re here?”
“Yeah Lucky I’m here. What’s wrong? What did you dream about?”
Lucky put his arms around her and hugged her. “What time is it?”
“It’s around four in the morning. You’ve been asleep a long time.”
“I was at the brownstone and they were all there and suddenly they all disappeared and you came towards me but before you could get to me you vanished. Then I was back in that cell. The guards came in and they were mad, I thought I was awake, I thought I had dreamed seeing you.”
“It wasn’t a dream Lucky. I thought it was. I’ve been sitting here watching you sleep since I came to bed. I had to watch you to make sure you are real.”
“I love you sweetie. So much, we’ll talk when we get on the island. I Promise. Was mom and dad upset that I fell asleep so early?”
“No they were glad you were resting. Juan and Emily took Lorenzo home with them. Emily moved into Juan’s place last night. Laura thought it would be a good idea so we can get together with Sonny and Jason without worrying. How long since you slept?”
“About a week. Right after the guard told me he was going to help me. All I could think about was getting to you.”
“I’m glad you did.”
