History: There is not much to say about Nissa. Before she was born, her father was killed for hiding the Wicked Witch of the West. Rumors flew about him being bludgeoned to death, but no one ever found the body. Nissa’s mother has never really recovered, and there is another loss Nissa doesn’t understand. Her mother says she also lost her best friend, although Nissa has never been told anything further than that. When Nissa was born, it was during the time of celebration. Her mother was very upset, but was overjoyed that she had a child. She tried to raise Nissa right – she even named her partly after Nessarose – but she couldn’t handle Oz and a child on her own, so Nissa grew up to be spoilt and too self-assured.

Nissa had been up since the crack of dawn. She had already packed five bags of clothes and was working on the six when there was a knock at the door. “Come in!” She called.
The door opened and her mother came into the room, laughing lightly. “Six bags? Nissa, you’re a day and a half away from home by train, you don’t need this much!” It was an odd statement coming from Glinda, but Nissa ignored it.
“You never know what social occasion may arise.” Nissa said sagely. Glinda shook her head, before starting to pick up a bag.
“Come on, the coach is leaving.” Nissa nodded. She finished her packing quickly before following her mother down to the coach. They kissed quickly before Nissa got into the coach and took off.
It didn’t take too long to get to Shiz, although if Glinda had allowed her to go by bubble, Nissa would have been there sooner. She got out of the coach and watched as the driver piled her suitcases onto a push cart. She followed him to Crage Hall, even though she knew she had her own suite assigned to her.
