Southern Soy Lites Candles, LLC is located in Terrytown, about 15 min. outside of New Orleans, LA. We have been creating Soy and Palm wax candles for years. Creating 100% Soy Wax Candles and 100% Palm Wax Candles is not easy. First of all, we use only all COTTON WICKS in our candles, not even zinc-core wicks will do. Soy wax in particular is difficult to work with because it can be very tempermental when it comes to melting temps and cooling temps. We do not use stabilizers or UV inhibitors in our wax. Sometimes our candles may have white spots on the suface, that's because we do not put additives in the wax. We do add color to our candles. Our color is safe and non-toxic. All of our colors are purchased from certified candle suppliers. It's more science that art when it comes to candle making with natural waxes, but well worth the extra effort that goes into each hand-poured gourmet candle. We have expanded over the years and still growing. Being located minutes from New Orleans inspired us in naming our company. W'ere located in the deep south, so that inspired "Southern" and when you're on the Crescent City Connection (that's our bridge that connects the Westbank to the Eastbank) at night going into New Orleans, all you see is the lights of the city, so that's why we have "Lites" in our name. We love New Orleans...I guess you could say we have a "flame" for this wonderful historical city.

We want to thank our customers and welcome new ones to our wonderful gourmet candles!

Thanks again for choosing a New Orleans business.
WHY SOY?
The Soybean is one of the most versatile products used today. It has been a high protein source for millions of people for thousands of years, however, being a food source is only the beginning of the uses of this abundant resource.

In the past century, research efforts surrounding soy and its uses have resulted in a multitude of everyday consumer goods such as cleaning products, paint removers, crayons, pens, and yes...you guessed it...CANDLE WAX!

Candles made from soy wax do not emit the soot and fumes that are attribued to paraffin candles. You've probably seen it a hundred times. You buy a paraffin candle that smells nice, it's colorful, the presentation is perfect...then you light it, within minutes, you can see the black residue rising from the lit wick, staining the jar or container from which these candles burn...and that's just from the first time you light it. Continued use of these paraffin candles will not only further blacken the jar or container it sits in...it can blacken your walls, ceilings, vents, ac units, heaters, curtain or blinds, and even carpets...and it's not just dirt that stains your home. Now imagine that same soot being inhaled into your lungs.

Soy candles help our environment and is constantly being researched because of the abundance and growing potential of the bean.
