Q: WHAT IS PARAFFIN WAX?
A: Paraffin is the by-product of petroleum.

Q: WHY SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT PARAFFIN WAX CANDLES?
A: Paraffin wax candles can fill the air with carcinogens (cancer causing agents), not to mention petro-soot.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF THE CANDLE I BURN IS PARAFFIN?
A: First, look on the label, if it doesn't say "SOY WAX", it's probably made from paraffin. Second, the waxes look different, Paraffin is more transparent wax, and usually has dark discolorations. Soy wax is more opaque and may have white discolorations.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT SOY WAX?
A: Soy Wax is toxin-free, so our candles won't give off the fumes and soot paraffin candles do. Soy wax burns slower to offer a longer lasting candle. Plus, soy wax is easy clean-up...just use soap and water.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT YOUR CANDLES?
A: We use a generous amount of pure frangrance oils, We use LEAD FREE WICKS to insure that our candles burn evenly. We offer a variety of size jars, including the popular travel tins and votives.

Q: DO YOU MIX PARAFFIN WAX WITH YOUR SOY WAX OR PALM WAX?
A: Absolutely not! We use 100% Natural Soy wax in our candles and 100% Natural Palm Wax in our cinnamon bun candles, votives & pillar candles. Some companies have begun mixing paraffin with soy/palm and calling it a soy or natural candle. Sometimes calling it a vegetable blend. If it doesn't say 100% Soy or 100% Palm Wax, it's not a true natural candle.

Q: HOW CAN I ORDER YOUR CANDLES?
A: You can order from this website, we have a shopping cart through secure PAYPAL, just click and order. It's that easy.
Questions and Answers about Soy & Palm Waxes
Soy wax was only invented 11 years ago and sales of soy candles have exploded over the last several years. While it's popularity has other companies flocking to jump on the bandwagon, Southern Soy Lites Candles has been creating soy candles over the past years.

Our all-natural cotton wicks are guaranteed lead and zinc-free. Not all Soy candles are created equal! Did you know that many so-called “Soy Candles” contain as little as 10% soy wax?

Using soy wax is very much an art form. The wax does not blend well with all fragrance oils; it doesn’t finish with a smooth, creamy look; it yellows through exposure to sunlight…it’s also more expensive than paraffin wax which is often blended with the soy by many candle-makers.

If unsure if your candle is 100% soy - Ask. Retailers should be able to tell you what the candle is made of. Check the packaging for an indication of what’s being used.
-Price! Paraffin wax is considerably cheaper than soy wax. Sure we could sell cheap candles too, but not while still offering top quality, 100% soy wax.
