Family Update by Ruth August was a super-hot month with
temperatures in the triple digits, but hey, hey, hey! We had a pool! AND...ta-DAH
ta-DAH...NO WILD-FIRES!! Ruth had purchased party lights to swim by, so we
enjoyed the pool both in the day and evening. One night, the girls had made
a "whirlpool" and were floating in it while singing a favorite EFY
song. it was so peaceful with the sunset and first stars visible. Oh, summer
memories...another night, we were all spooked by an owl swooping overhead
while we played "shark" (a variation of "Marco-Polo").
Talk about SCARY! August also was a time to celebrate Reid's birthday. Happy
Birthday Reid! Not too long after the owl incident, our favorite female
feline, Miss Kitty, disappeared. We mourned our loss for her for a long
time, and still miss her:( Toward the end of the month was Ruth's last
Seminary Training for the summer. Ready, Set, GO!

Personal Achievements of the Month |
|
Rodney: "Work, work, work. I've created an empire, and work is the only way to keep it going." | Rebecca gave Reid a whole pack of paper plates for his birthday (see below for explanation). She also started school...yuck! |
Reanna: "Well, I watched Two Brothers and it was very sad..and I started on The Tennishoes Among the Nephites Book three 'The Feathered Serpent Part Two' and well that's it". | Reid went to Utah with the Young Men. He had an ok time, but was distraught by the lack of paper plates (apparently the boys are slobs). |
Ruth has been preparing for Seminary! | Ryan had an awesome time in Utah. He went twice, once to Bryce Canyon and once to visit Sierra. |
Rosi: "I don't really know what I did but I know that I sang happy
birthday and ate cake." |
|
Rachel: "I now have the Kermit the frog song about rainbows stuck in my head. This could get annoying..." | Roxanna had many sunburns and hopes to recover by her next birthday. |
