ESTABROOK, Jason A., 93 YARMOUTH - Jason A. Estabrook, 93, of Yarmouth Falls Apartments, Yarmouth, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at a Yarmouth health-care facility. He was born in Amity, the son of the late Lysle and Lydia (Muise) Estabrook. He attended schools in Seldon. He worked in a lumber camp as the assistant cook prior to World War II. During the war, he worked in both the So. Freeport and So. Portland shipyards. He moved to Yarmouth in 1927 and worked locally at the Yarmouth pole yard. He also worked for Sweetser Brothers, building bridges. Mr. Estabrook worked for 34 years as a rotary cutter for S.D. Warren Co. He enjoyed making peanut butter fudge as gifts for friends and relatives at Christmas, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Yarmouth. He was married to Adelaide Cleaves from 1929 until her death in 1957. He is survived by five sons, Donald, Allan and Gene of Yarmouth, Earle of Cumberland and Glenn of Walpole; one daughter, Sharon Hines of Brunswick, 27 grandchildren, 41 great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Ocshner officiating. Burial will be later in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Yarmouth. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Yarmouth, 346 Main St., Yarmouth 04096; or to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland 04101.
