lagging0001.JPG      Holes are prebored and countersunk using a step drill. These lag bolts are 3/8"x10". The holes are prebored with a 1/2" bit, counterbored 1-1/8" for the 1" hardened steel washer. Maximum strength is obtained at 12 diameters penetration into the log below. 12x3/8=4-1/2". We drive the lags with an electric impact wrench and deep well socket.
