JOHN PAUL II CENTRE:
Taize Prayer: June 16, 7:30-8:30 p.m., Sr. Joyce Lorentz. This hour of praying together for unity among Christians and for reconciliation among all humanity is based on the daily prayer form of the ecumenical community of brothers at Taize, France. It consists of simple prayer: chants, psalms of praise, petition and thanksgiving, short readings from scripture, intercessory prayers and periods of silence. From Conflict to Compassion: June 18, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Bert Pitzel. Every day we can see conflict smoldering and flaring out within and between families. This workshop will address the following: how are Christians who are inevitably caught up in such collapse, oftentimes systematic, to respond; how can we move from conflict to compassion; how can we be prophets of hope rather than "gloom and doom"?
