INTERMEDIATE YOUTH:
Well another year has gone swiftly for the intermediate Youth Group. Looking back, the first thing I realized is how much help we got from the parents. Without your help and support we could not begin to get as creative as we wanted. A huge THANK YOU for your involvement. Even bringing the kids week after week deserves a note of thanks. We had a great bunch of kids and that starts at home.
To our Youth Group kids I want to say thank you for many things. You often made me laugh, think and pull my hair out (not necessarily in that order)!! This year we asked you to do even more community things. Going to Santa Maria, our Youth Mass and shopping for the needy were better than we expected because you participated. Even when our ice fishing was canceled for the fourth time you still came and ate hot-dogs at the church! To you guys I give a big thank you and wish you good times over the summer. To our friend's Geoff and Shannon a special thank you for tackling the Junior High Youth Group. Your dedication was an inspiration and I know you touched the lives of our young adults in a very meaningful way.

We are already planning for next year in hopes of keeping this good thing going. I am strongly looking into having a puppeteer come in and show us how to make puppets and then putting on a show. We will continue tried and true activities such as family games nite, valentine cookie bake, our sleigh ride and of course beef on a bun. We really look forward to seeing you gather in the fall! Having just lost a close relative who's passing left many words unsaid, I vowed to try and say things to people now instead of just whispering them in prayer. You were a great group and we look forward to seeing you all in September.
We have one more request for help from all our youth parents and youthful parishioners. St. Michael's Retreat would like us to come out on Sun., July 13, 2 p.m. and clean out the dead trees from the woods on their property. The wood would make a wonderful teepee and our working together with the friars (not deep) would strengthen our relationship and our sense of community with St. Michael's Retreat. Hot Dogs and Hamburgers to follow. Please call Greg or Theresa at 757-5457 by July 6 for numbers.
God Bless, Greg and Theresa

JUNIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP:
When asked to lead the Junior High Youth Group, we thought it would be a great opportunity to get involved with the youth of Holy Cross.
The year was filled with lots of fun and exciting activities including rosary making, bowling, tobogganing, serving at 1st Communion Celebrations, a sleigh ride through the Festival of Lights, the Medieval Feast and the Youth Mass!

We enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the kids and look forward to seeing them grow up into contributing members of Holy Cross Parish.
We'd like to thank the parishioners and the Youth Group parents for your support of all the endeavors of the youth.
We're thankful to have had this very rewarding opportunity.
Have a great summer; God Bless!
Shannon & Geoff Gilbert
