The Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon is a multi-district blend largely from the south east of South Australia.In some years the wine may contain a parcel of Western Australian Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was first released in 1993 with the superb 1990 vintage. The wine was developed by John Duval, Penfolds former Chief Winemaker, in response to the increasing availability of high quality Cabernet Sauvignon fruit.

Penfolds Bin 128 is one of the most distinctive reds in the Penfolds stable. Firstly, as a 'Coonawarra Shiraz', it is one of the few Penfolds reds that isn't a multi regional blend. It is also matured solely in French oak. French oak generally lends a wine understated, aromatic characters and is therefore a better choice with more subtly flavoured wines.In 1981 the wine changed name from Bin 128 Claret to Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz.

Penfolds Bin 138 (first vintage 1992) was a natural response to a growing international market, increasingly interested in the highly perfumed and fleshy styles made famous by the wines of Chateauneuf du Pape. Blended together, the varieties of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre can make a sublime wine with great personality and structure.

Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mourvedreis a multi-regional blend drawing fruit from warmer vineyard sites including Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. The two varieties complement each other well, making an easy drinking wine which is not overtly concentrated, but has plenty of fruit, texture and flavour length.

Penfolds Red Winemaking Trial (RWT) draws fruit from 20 to 100 year-old vineyards arcing across the west and north-west of the Barossa Valley, mostly independently grown. The best vineyards produce fruit of voluptuous intensity, ripe tannins, and juicy flavours. The RWT Shiraz has a very seductive style with a plum/blueberry fruit profile and fine ripe tannins underpinned by savoury French oak.
