What is the law regarding homeschooling in Wisconsin?
  • You must provide 875 hours of sequentially progressive curriculum in six subject areas.
  • No testing is required.
  • No teaching certification is required.
  • You must fill out and send form PI-1206 to the WI DPI.

What about socialization?

  • Besides the family, there are many opportunities for socialization while homeschooling including support groups, volunteering, scouts, 4-H, and church and community activities.

  • Research has found homeschoolers are generally well-adjusted and well-socialized.
