This is a picture of my Great-Grandfather Benjamin Witkowski. It is mounted on heavy cardboard and bears the name of the photographer or his studio, "Nemo" and the city, Kalisz in Poland where it was taken. I have no date but I am sure it was before 1900.
Here is a photograph of my grandfather Jacob and his three sisters. I don't know the date but I would guess it was about 1890. The oldest sister was called Rachela. This is the most beautifully printed and preserved of the pictures. It too wa a product of "Nemo". I have no idea why they are dressed up in these costumes.
Somewhere along the way from Poland to the USA via England my Grandfather's name was changed to Jacob Witkover. I don't know where this was taken; it could have been in any of the 3 places. It was not mounted on cardboard the way the others were so I would guess it was in England or the US.
This is The wedding photo of my grandparents, taken in New York City. I have no date but I would guess somewhere about 1905-1910.
