Spean Bridge
June 15, 2000
On our way north from Ft. William we stopped at Inverlochy Castle which is in ruins. We then continued on to the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge.
Inverlochy Castle
The Memorial was built in memory of British special forces troops who lost their lives in WWII and subsequent conflicts. There were a number of men there who looked about the age to have fought in that great conflict. From the memorial, you get a brilliant view of the Ben Nevis mountain range.

We stopped for lunch at the Old Pines Restaurant, which is a few hundred yards from the Commando Memorial. The restaurant is also a B&B. The food was excellent, especially the local cheeses and mushroom soup.
