William Michael
Campbell was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in
Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He is a graduate of the
University of Kansas, where he received a bachelors in
Education and a doctorate in Speech and Hearing Science.
During the Vietnam war he served in Southeast Asia with
the 388th Tactical Fighter Squadron as an F-4 Phantom and
F-105 Thunderchief automatic flight control systems
specialist with the United States Air Force, where he
received the Expert Marksman Medal and the Good Conduct
Medal.
Dr. Campbell
has spent twenty years as a corporate educational
consultant and he is the author of many Organizational
Development books and seminars, as well as technical
books on a variety of subjects. He has lectured and
presented several research papers at the Juilliard School
of Music's Symposia for Care of the Professional
Voice and is a certified facilitator for Dr. Stephen
R. Covey's The Seven Habits of Highly Effective
People seminars.
Dr. Campbell
is the father of three sons; his oldest, Bryan, is a
geologist who does surveying and oil exploration on
Alaska's North Slope and makes his home in Girdwood,
Alaska. Daryn, his "middle" son, lives in
Taos, New Mexico and is in market research. Colin,
his youngest, is in his senior year of college, seeking a
degree in film production. He has one grandson, Nikihla,
age seven, the son of Daryn and his wife Karyn. He
currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri. When he's not
writing, he's either in Alaska or New Mexico with his sons,
or playing keyboards and electric bass for several
"blues" bands around the Kansas City area. He
has a "side" business building Hardanger
fiddles and mountain dulcimers on a commission basis.
