The Koln was a Dresden II class light cruiser built in Hamburg by Blohm & Voss in October 1918. She was 510 feet in length and displaced 5500 tons. She was armed with 8 x 5.9" guns, 3 x 3.4" anti aircraft guns and 4 x 23.6" torpedo tubes which were mounted on her decks. She also had the capacity and capability to carry 200 sea mines. She was scuttled in Scapa Flow on the 21st June 1919.

The wreck today :The Klon lies in 35 metres of water and rests on her starboard side, the leats depth over her is 20 metres. She is regarded by many to be one of the finest wreck dives in the Flow due to her good condition. She is almost completely intact except for her anchors and propellers which were salvaged. The sleek bow is festooned with sponges and anemones and rows and rows of portholes.
