The breathtaking scenery and the ease of access makes Skye the most popular of the Hebridean islands. The islands Gaelic name is Eilean a Cheo which means isle of mist and it often lives up to its name. Skye has a large coastline and from a diving point of view the diving is varied, ranging from scenic dives to wreck diving. The visibility around the coast is usually very good and the tidal currents tend to be very weak. The main problem for divers is boat access, there are not that many of them due to the high cliffs and the farm land.
