SMACKDOWN RESULTS 27/4/01

MC: “Hello and welcome to another thrilling edition of Smackdown. I’m Michael Cole alongside the man from the red hook section of Brooklyn, Tazz.”

Tazz: “Shut up Cole, and I can introduce myself thanks. Tonight Cole, Taker has a Hell in a Cell match against whoever challenges him. And if anybody has the brains, it’s best to steer clear of that match.”

MC: “That’s right and the European title is also on the line tonight in a fatal four way.”

Match 1 – Lita vs. Spike Dudley – No Interference

Lita’s music hits

Chimble: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, weighing in at 135lbs, Lita!”

Spike’s music hits

Chimble: “AND her opponent, from Dudleyville, weighing in at 150lbs, Spike Dudley.”

Lita attacked Spike and started to punch away at the Dudley. She whipped him to the ropes and did a flying elbow on Spike and went for a two count, getting a two. She picked him up and whipped him to the ropes again and did a dropkick on Spike.

Tazz: “Lita is looking pretty impressive here against Spike.”

She went for another cover and once again got a two count. She went for the same approach and whipped him to the ropes, but this time it was Spike on the offensive and he did a shoulder block. He picked Lita up and started to punch away at Lita and whipped her to the ropes. He then did a dropkick, before picking her up and doing a powerslam. He went up to the top rope and went for the big splash, but he missed and Lita rolled out of the way and went for the cover. She got a long two count and she whipped him to the ropes. Spike holds onto the ropes and then did a flying forearm smash. He got hold of her and did the tornado DDT off of the turnbuckle. He went for the cover, 1...2...3. Ding Ding Ding.

Chimble: “The winner of this bout, Spike Dudley.”

Tazz: “Lita put up one hell of a fight there Michael.”

Match 2 – Kurt Angle vs. Big Show – No.1 Contendership for the IC Title

Kurt Angle’s music hits

Chimble: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the number one contendership for the Intercontinental Championship. Introducing first, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, weighing 220lbs, Kurt Angle.”

Big Show’s music hits

Chimble: “And his opponent, from Tampa, Florida, weighing in at 500lbs, a member of 2 Hardcore, the Big Show.”

The men get in the ring and Big Show charges at Angle to start the match. Angle sidesteps and Show runs into the corner. Angle starts to hammer away at Show, right hands, and left hands and then he goes for the head butt that hurts him more than the big man. Angle falls to the ground and Show does a splash on him. He then picks up Angle and tosses him out of the ring. Angle takes a breather and then decides to get back in the ring. Show swings Angle from one corner to the other and then Big Show did a big splash on Angle. Angle falls to the floor and Show picked him up and was ready to put him in the Chokeslam.

Tazz: “NO!! Big Show can’t chokeslam our Olympic hero.”

Big Show does a huge Chokeslam drop on Angle and goes for the count. 1…2.., but somehow Angle kicks out he gets up before the three. He picks Angle up, and sets him up for another Chokeslam, but this time Angle did a low-blow on Show and picked him in Angle slam. He delivers this perfectly and goes for the count. 1…2…3.

Ding Ding Ding

Chimble: “The winner of this match, Kurt Angle.”

BREAK

Match 3 – Kai en Tai vs. Bull Buchanan and Goodfather – Hardcore Tag

Chimble: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is the Hardcore Tag Match-up. This match cannot leave the ring area and only one person from each team is allowed in the ring at one time. Weapons are surrounding the ring and these can be used in the match.”

Kai en Tai’s music hits

Chimble: “Introducing first, from Japan at a combined weight of 363lbs, Kai en Tai.”

The Right’s music hits

Chimble: “ANNDDDDD their opponents, at a combined weight of 595lbs, they are members of The Right, Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather.”

The first two men in the ring are Taka and Bull. Goodfather throws in a chair and Bull uses this effectively. He got a quick tag to Goodfather and the two men doubled teamed Taka as Funaki was stopped from getting in the ring by the referee. Goodfather takes down Taka with the chair and Bull leaves the ring. Goodfather then did a powerslam onto the chair, but when he went for the suplex, Taka wriggled around and was able to tag in Funaki. Funaki had a steel pipe ready and waiting and he used this straight away, knocking Goodfather down. Funaki went for the cover and got a long two count. Taka came in off of the tag and he did a missile dropkick off of the top, but Goodfather managed to duck out of the way of it. He tagged in Bull who came in hot and did a scissor kick to the face of Taka. He went for the cover and also got a long two count. Funaki then came in the ring and took out Goodfather with a chair and Goodfather hit his head on the steel steps, knocking him down.

Tazz: “Oooooo! That’s gotta hurt!”

Bull was then left in the ring with both members of Kai en Tai and he took out Funaki with a spear. As Taka was getting up he did his Scissor Kick on the man from Japan and got a three count. He quickly got out of the ring to tend to his partner who had been knocked out cold.

Chimble: “The winner of this bout, Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather.”

MC: “What is Goodfather going to do? He is competing in the next match?”

BREAK

Match 4 – Rikishi vs. William Regal vs. Goodfather vs. Bossman – European Title

Chimble: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the World Wrestling Federation European Title. Introducing first....”

Rikishi’s music hits

Chimble: “..From the Isles of Samoa, weighing in at 424lbs, he is a member of 2 Hardcore, Rikishi.”

William Regal’s music hits

Chimble: “And his opponent, first from Blackpool, England, weighing in at 245lbs, he is a member of 2 Hardcore, William Regal.”

Tazz: “That is what I like about this match. Two members of 2 Hardcore, so one of them HAVE to win.”

Goodfather’s music hits

Chimble: “And their opponents, from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at 320lbs, a member of the Right, The Goodfather.”

MC: “This isn’t really fair. Goodfather has just competed in a big match.”

Bossman’s music hits

Chimble: “And their opponent, from Cobb County, Georgia, weighing in at 315lbs, The Big Boss Man.”

Bossman runs to the ring and takes out Regal. Rikishi deals with Goodfather, who already has an injury from the previous match-up. Goodfather gets thrown out quickly and into a barricade.

Tazz: “Phew!! Goodfather is out of it!”

Rikishi then goes over to Bossman who is taking it to Regal. He turns Bossman around and knocks him down with a hard clothesline. Rikishi shouts at William...

“Leave him to me!!”

Regal did what he was told and went and continued to beat Goodfather. Rikishi did a powerslam on Bossman and a hard clothesline coming off of the ropes followed this. Rikishi then sat down on Bossman, but didn’t go for the cover.

Tazz: “Why didn’t he go for the cover?”

Regal got back in the ring and he went for the cover. He got a two count and did an elbow drop on Bossman. Bossman dragged him over to the corner and went up to the second rope. Regal held down Bossman and Rikishi did the Bonzai Drop. Once again, nobody went for the cover. Regal picked him up this time and did a suplex on Bossman. He went for the Regal Stretch and Rikishi Bonzaied him at the same time. Bossman tapped and the ref called for the bell.

Chimble: “The winner of this bout, and NEW World Wrestling Federation Champion, William Regal.”

Rikishi picked up the mic: “Bossman, I don’t want no crappy European Title, I want the IC title, so what do you say?”

MC: “My god. Rikishi has issued a challenged to the Bossman. I wonder what he will say?”

Match 5 – Undertaker vs. REQUEST – Hell in a Cell, WWF Title

Rollin’ hits and the crowd boo as Undertaker come to the ring

Taker: “I have issued a challenge to anybody in the back to face me in an Hell in a Cell match-up, but nobody seemed to have answered. So I will give anybody 10 seconds to get down here to face me.”

Mideon’s music hits

Taker: “Come on then big man! You wana take me on?”

Mideon has a microphone with him: “Actually Taker, I do. Kane has asked ME, to soften you up for the match at Backlash.”

Taker: “What match at Backlash?”

Mideon: “Oh, hasn’t Mr. McMahon told you? You have got Kane at Backlash for that title.”#

Mideon runs through the door and the match starts. Mideon tried to knock the big man down but the punch didn’t even stir Undertaker. He tried again and it didn’t affect the man from the dark side. This time Mideon cam flying off of the ropes, but Undertaker did the clothesline on Mideon. Taker picked him up and threw him into the side of the cell. Mideon bounced back down to the mat and Taker picked him up again. Taker swung him to the ropes and did a powerslam as Mideon came off. Taker then called for OLD SCHOOL and went up to the rope. He crashed down onto the arm of Mideon, and Mideon fell to the floor. Taker then picked him up and did a perfectly executed Chokeslam and got the three count.

MC: “Well, Undertaker used Mideon as a warm up there!”

Suddenly Kane’s music hits and he comes to the ring. He steels the key from the ref and goes to unlock the door.

MC: “Oh my!! It’s Kane!! He’s coming for his big brother!”

Kane got in and into the ring and the two brothers stare at each other.

Tazz: “This is going to erupt in a minute Cole, you wait.”

All of a sudden, 2 Hardcore come out from under the ring and lock the door back on. They slide in the ring and start to beat the living hell out of Kane. William Regal was directing traffic when the Corporation come to the ring, but Regal has the key, so nobody could get in or out. Rikishi then flattened Kane, and Taker did the Last Ride. Regal went to the outside and took a metal bar from underneath the ring and gave it to the Undertaker. He started to hit Kane with it when Vince ordered the Cell to be lifted. As the Corporation came into the ring, 2 Hardcore high-tailed and ran up the ramp.

MC: “What a night we have had. 2 Hardcore have the advantage now though, see you at Backlash everyone!”

Smackdown ends with 2 Hardcore standing dominant at the top of the ramp.
