Vocational Students With Application Letter and Resume A WebQuest for 9-12th Grade Business Communication Designed by Ray

Students will work on exercises that will demonstrate their ability to follow instructions. They will have a guest speaker the next day that will enhance their activities. What the lesson plan is about is
students working on an exercise that will demonstrate their ability to follow
directions. They will do some research on the WebQuest and prepare an
application letter and resume to turn-in by tomorrow morning. When they
finish the activity they will be able to write effectively and should be able
to follow the task for building an application and resume. A copy of their
activities will be put in the portfolio. The students will write and format
an application letter and resume in preparation for a successful job
interview. They will describe what should be included in an application
letter and resume. They will complete a resume worksheet that shows how
professional they really can be and will be handed in. They will fill out an
job application letter and resume after reviewing possible job openings.
Afterward, they will have a quiz over what they have learned and it will be
submitted online after reading the assignment on the chapter. The grade level will be 9th to 12th graders who are taking Business Communication TEK 120.22. This lesson is an extension of Career Connections and Career Investigations. It may be partly a refresher for some, but more meaningful toward Co-Op students who show a sincere desire to find work that best interests themselves. What the learners will need to know are
how to prepare a business letter and resume that sells their skills,
interests, and aptitude. They will prepare an employment portfolio, including
letters of application, resumes, and related employment and correspondence. Technology application standard V is what teachers will address that show how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate with the effective use of TEKS into the curriculum. Standards 5.7, 5.9,5.10,5.11,5.14 are used in the making of the webquest. What students learn are based on Business Education standards TEK GUIDELINES 120.22 6(g). The outcome of their activities will a rubric of their performance on what they accomplished building a webquest. They will learn successful interview techniques, proper writing standards, and more knowledge toward self-acheivement with cooperative learning measures. Process

job interview. The students will have determined the success ratio in the job
market based on how well they prepared themself and how well they
performed.The students will Evaluation be signed by the interviewer, and will
be based on your job interview, hopefully with the city. You will determine
how prepared they are to find what they want. They will discuss with a
classmate what you have determined based on your evaluation. They will then
turn in a portfolio and evaluation at the end of the class period or when all
the assignments have been completed. There goals is to accomplish this task
with a 3 or better on the rubric on each section, the maximum score on the
rubric will be a 20, as noted below for an A+. The students must cut out the
evaluation and give to the interviewer and have him sign it. The purpose of this WebQuest was to help students identify what is needed in a resume and job application and to help them develop the skills and knowledge to be able to get hired. Some of the questions they will be faced with are: 1. Do you believe this Webquest would help identify what is needed to be able to get hired? 2. Did you learn what words can be beneficial to you when making a resume to be able to get hired? 3. Do you now feel more confident when making logical decisions in the business world? 4. Do you now recognize true value of good business ethics? 5. Turn-in a one-page summary discussing these questions and of everything we did on the WebQuest, giving me your positive feedback and what you learned!
