This is an ongoing project, which now has 14,000 names.

It is simply a surname index of photos appearing in various North Midland Local Newspapers during 1914-19.  Most but not all are of servicemen.  They are not at all confined to those who were killed.

At present the newspapers consulted include some of those in the areas of Macclesfield, Stockport, Leek, N Staffs, Derbyshire, Sheffield and Rotherham.

Information provided includes the name and issue of the newspaper in which they appeared.  Often there is some additional information including rank and Regt. Whilst we do not hold copies of the photos themselves we can obtain copies from the newspapers themselves.

At this stage searches are available on the present database.
The cost for this is 2 x 2nd class postage stamps per name plus a sae.  Special arrangements are made for a complete surname.

The first CD should be produced later in the year covering just the year 1917.
