History: Scott
was the first official student at the Xaiver School for the gifted.
His father was flying the family home from a when a midair accident
crippled the plane. Scott's mother pushed he and Alex out of the plane.
When Scott landed he suffered a brain injury which now causes him to be
unable to control his mutant power. His parents were presumed dead,
and Alex was adopted as Scott remained in a coma for a year. When
he awoke he was put in a Nebraska orphanage. In his teens
he started to suffer from severe headaches and eyestrain. His
mutant power first appeared in public when he accidentally demolished a
crane causing the load it was carrying to drop toward a crowd of people.
He once again used his blast and prevented disaster but the crowd
turned into a mod and came after him. He caught a freight train and
escaped. Professor Xavier the appeared and rescued Scott from an
abusive foster parent.
He became
the X-Men's deputy leader and stayed on after the original X-Men left.
His feelings for Jean Grey continued to grow but he did not pursue them
at first because he felt his dangerous powers made it impossible
for him to be close to anyone. That soon passed but soon the cosmic
entity known as the Phoenix Force took Jean's place on the team. When the
phoenix force went insane it committed suicide and Scott thought Jean was
lost to him forever. Unable to cope with his grief he left the X-men
and started a new life. He eventually met and married Madelyne Pryor
(he didn't realize she was actually a clone of Jean created by Mr. Sinister).
They soon had a son, Nathan Christopher, but when Scott learned Jean was
alive he left his wife and founded X-Factor with Jean, Warren, Hank and
Bobby. As a result Madelyn went insane
and died in a battle with Jean. X-Factor was disbanded and all returned
to the X-Men. Nathan was infected by a techno-organic virus by Apocalypse
and in order to save his life sent him 2000 years into the future with
a member of the Askani Clan.
After they
were wed, Scott and Jean's spirits were sent into the future by Mother
Askani to raise Nathan until he was almost a teenager. When they
were finally returned to earth Nathan remained.
In a battle
with Apocalypse, whose plan was to capture the 12 most powerful mutants
and channel their energy into himself and then allow him to absorb the
body of X-Man (Nate Grey). However before Apocalypse could inhabit
X-Man's body Scott pushed Nate out of the way and took his place.
He was believed to be dead but Cable and Jean both believed he was out
their somewhere and with their help he was able to escape from Apocalypse
and rejoin the X-Men
He hasn't been
the same old Scott since his return. He is more moody and his marriage
is suffering. As well there seems to be some type of attraction with
Emma Frost although he is trying to deny it.
