The exterior of the Temple of the Dark Wyrm shows the same construction as the outer walls of the city of Khar Th'Sekt, mostly sandstone blocks planed to close tolerances and fitted together precisely without mortar, with the addition of modified tejen'al at the corners, a frieze with an unusual horizontal inscription in demotic characters, and windows in the shape of the sacred arkh, or talon. These windows are barred with wrought iron in the traditional stylized flame motif, providing easy cross ventilation without leaving access for most flying creatures larger than a bird. The pylons at the corners of the structure, too, are inlaid with wrought-iron bas reliefs. There is as you will observe a narrow gap between the top of the wall and the tent-fabric portion of the roof of the Temple.
(*Note: and what does that inscription say? I have to wonder. It seems to be one short phrase or word, repeated.)
