Many companies do perform tests on animals, although you may be led to
believe that they do not. The safest way to ensure your products are not
tested on animals is to look on the back of the label. It will either say
'Not Tested On Animals' or' This Company Supports Animal Rights'.
If you cannot find a label that states that the product was not tested
on animals, you may wish to call or write to the company providing the
product. Simply state that you are a concerned consumer and wish to know
if they perform tests on animals. If you do not receive a response then
write again, if you wrote them in the first place. IF you called and they
refuse to answer your questions then ask to speak to someone in higher
power. If they refuse to let you speak to anyone. It usually means that
they do not want you to know something. You may wish to continue trying
to discover if they perform animal testing write to the company if you
previously called, write them this time. You may also wish to contact an
animal rights foundation and ask them if you really wish to know.
Most tests
performed on animals are unnessicary and illegitimate. Illegitimate in
the fact that they are irrelevent to humans. Such as penicillin tests.
Penicillin causes death in guinea pigs, but we know all the wonders it
has worked for humans. If they had taken the tests on guinea pigs to be
acceptable for humans also, many people would have died.
