Ranma Saotome: the main character inRanma Saotome the series (hmm.. maybe that would explain the name), Ranma has been cursed! On a training mission in China at the Jusenkyo Springs, Ranma fell into the "Spring of Drowned Girl." He now turns into a girl when splashed with cold water. He turns back when splashed with hot water.

Well-trained in the martial arts, Ranma will inherit the Saotome School of Martial Arts (and his dad wants him to marry a Tendo and inherit the Tendo School of Martial Arts as well). Ranma is engaged to Akane Tendo and Ukyou Chan, and is courted by others as well (in both male and female forms!). Mainly, the series circulates around Akane and Ranma's relationship.

Also, the stories revolve around various characters popping up to marry, pummel or kill Ranma. They also like to kidnap Akane!
