Whopping weight on a water lily!

Did you know that floating water lily leaves could support up
to three men?

Yes, it's true!
In South America, one species of the water lily, known to man as
the Victorian water lily, can actually support three fully-grown
men at one time.
Unbelievable? Well, I'm not pulling your leg. The Victorian
water lily can be seen beyond the Amazon region of the South
America. I'm sure you guys have seen a photograph of a frog
sitting on a water lily before, haven't you? Well if you have
seen such a photo, you most probably have already seen a
Victorian water lily, probably one with smaller leaves. (Davina's
Note: For your visual pleasure, up there is a picture of the
Victorian water lily.)
The round leaves of this jungle monster can grow up to two
meters in diameter. That's even bigger than the dinning table at
my house. Holy cow!
Anyway, English explorers who discovered the plant named the
plant in honor of Queen Victoria of England in 1838, and took
note of it after seeing it hold up three men without being
submerged.
